The same freedom of expression

Louis Cartier, Jeanne Toussaint and Aldo Cipullo, these three artisans of Cartier style are driven by the same creative vision. Their boldness and freedom are expressed through the power of design.

Louis Cartier

It was at 13 rue de la Paix that Louis Cartier (1875-1942), the founder's grandson, laid down the foundations of a unique and recognisable style. A trailblazer, he opened the door to many creative pathways, from the Guirlande to the dawn of Art Deco, from Tutti Frutti to the Trinity ring. A heritage and a state of mind with a uniqueness that Cartier still perpetuates today.

Jeanne Toussaint

A woman of style, Jeanne Toussaint (1887-1976) joined the Maison in 1920 and succeeded Louis Cartier as head of design in 1933. She occupied a special place in the history of jewellery and left her mark on Cartier style. A sunny palette, extravagant volumes, fluidity... She also brought the Maison’s iconic animal - the Panthère - to life.

Aldo Cipullo

With the LOVE and Juste Un Clou bracelets, Aldo Cipullo (1935-1984), a designer for Cartier New York from 1969 onwards, revolutionised contemporary jewellery. Faithful to the Cartier philosophy of seeing beauty wherever it may be, with Love he played with the graphic nature of the screw and made it the symbol of unfailing love. Creative audacity, reiterated with Juste Un Clou.
